Medicare Part D does not allow for the government to negotiate volume discounts with pharmaceutical companies, costing taxpayers. The VA can negotiate and receives better prices on prescription medicine. Have the VA administer this portion of Medicare and save money on the costs to the government, plus reduce some of the administrative duplication.
