President Obama ran as a candidate who said he would bring change to Washington and fight for the interests of the hard working people of this country. Since then, he has appointed Wall Street insiders to his economic team and a Monsanto lobbyist to be the nation's food czar. He has done nothing to meaningfully address the threat to the democratic process posed by pervasive corporate influence over the political system. Mr. Obama should admit that he is either unwilling or unable to bring about the change to our political system that he promised during his campaign, or alternately clean house and appoint people to positions in the executive branch who have not been employed by entities whose interests are in direct conflict with those of the American people at large.
