Admit to the people of the United States of America that prohibition doesn't work.

Alcohol prohibition was tried during the 1920's and it failed miserably. The same misguided attempts at social reform have continued to confound the nation's legal system. After several decades of unsuccessful marijuana and drug prohibition, it has come time to admit to the American people that prohibition doesn't work and banning substances that are deemed harmful by the government but still continue to be used by people in relatively large quantities is counterproductive. The current trend of banning controlled substances has paved the way for a vast array of organized criminal activities, countless violent acts committed by drug users, and a whole assortment of legal problems, including the numerous prosecutions of non-violent offenders for crimes with no perceivable victims.
