Paid Parental Leave can help push America to a higher level of society. Over America's short lifetime, we have overcome many preconceived prejudices. Sexism, racism, and even the recent push for sexual orientation equality. Unlike those issues, this issue is a bipartisan issue. Not left wing, right wing, Republican, Democrat, or anything else. Many of our competitors/allies have very complete programs that allow parents to employ essential time to bond with their children, while being able to still keep their families together financially. In America, we have the Family and Medical Leave Act, but it is unpaid and many are not covered by it. Many do not have the economic flexibility to stay home and take the time to be with their children. We need a program to help families bond.
