Adopt DEA Administrative Law Judge Young's Position on Marijuana and End the Hypocritical Prohibition.

Created by T.P. on December 12, 2011

In 1988, DEA Administrative Law Judge Francis Young concluded, "In strict medical terms marijuana is far safer than many foods we commonly consume. For example, eating 10 raw potatoes can result in a toxic response. By comparison, it is physically impossible to eat enough marijuana to induce death. Marijuana in its natural form is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known to man."

From 2009-2011, roughly 6,750 articles have been published and can be accessed on PubMed Central, the U.S. government repository for peer-reviewed scientific research, that corroborate Judge Young's 1988 ruling.

As a result, we the people feel that the federal prohibition is hypocritical as aimed at protecting public health, especially given the violence generated on both ends of prohibition.
