For far too long the greatest nation on earth has toiled with the most ridiculous system of measurements on earth. While the rest of the world has moved forward we continue to measure in inches, feet, yards, cups, acres, leagues, bushels, and even hogsheads. Yes that's right, 1 hogshead equals 63 gallons or 8.421875 cubic feet.
How much more efficient could we be if we adopted the same system of measurements as the rest of the world. A system in which 1 meter equals 100 centimeters and 1 centimeters equals 10 millimeters.
Instead we insist on 1 yard equaling 3 feet and 1 foot equaling 12 inches. Enough already
We've already adopted the metric system in science and engineering. It's now time for our government, schools, tape measures, and the rest of America to adopt as well.
