We need to adopt the METRIC system as soon as possible. While this may appear to be a "minor" issue, it actually has very significant strategic value for the following reasons:
1) The U.S. Is now the only country in the world that uses the English system for measurement. Even the English is now on the Metric system.
2) improve our children's math and science education. Memorizing an additional layer of facts/ figures for measurements only adds to our children's educational burden. Metric measurements are more intuitive, and can be added/ factored/ multiplied easily and are consistent with what the rest of the world uses.
3) creating new sign ages that reflects the metric system will help create jobs. While there is an upfront cost, the strategic benefits will pay dividends.
