For years, the nearly every other country has been using the metric system for years. However, we continue to stall behind and hold on to the old, less efficient way.
The Metric system is set up in a way to be simple and easy, yet we continue to use the Imperial units. The system of "by 10s" makes it easier to measure the size, volume and weight of different objects, making it much easier to use compared to the Imperial system, which seems to have no rhyme or reason.
We have stalled long enough on something the rest of world already does. I ask for the Obama administration to change the official measurement system to Metric.
