First appearing in 1975, Nevada voters have had the option of casting a vote for "None of These Candidates" when voting for President of the United States. This option has been listed along with the names of individuals running for the position, and can be selected when voters have no confidence in any of the candidates running. Although legally challenged in 2012, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld the inclusion of this voting option on July 10, 2013.
Given the current dissatisfaction with the presumptive nominees for our two major political parties, along with the malaise in voting for third-party candidates, I propose that the "None of These Candidates" option be added to ballots across all 50 states for the coming November 2016 presidential election.
