We have already seen that app developers are creating apps that allow tracking and stalking. Senator Al Franken is investigating the ride app for such stalking. Apps are asking for too many permissions that they don't need for the purpose of the app. Individuals may have a right to divulge their information at will, but for an app to demand access to your contact list open contacts up to violation of their privacy rights!!! No one should have permission to add or remove anything around content to someone's device or social media. They should not be able to control your device or social media. They are not going to police themselves and we need strong and clear government intervention to stop them in their tracks, They can charge / have a similar app and charge for it!
