Adopt a Single-Payer Healthcare System

Created by J.P. on December 03, 2013

The United States health care could be enabled to become more efficient and cost effective if it were to adopt a single-payer system as a opposed to the multilayer system that is currently in place.

Despite innovative medical technology, Americans have one of the highest rates of child mortality (8 deaths per 1,000 children under age 5 in 2002) and one of the shortest life expectancies (77.3 years in 2002) in the industrialized world (World Health Organization [WHO] 2004a).

By Adopting a Single-Payer Healthcare System, the unnecessary administration costs that currently constrain the Healthcare system could be refocused upon the people who need it most.
