Adopt William Paterson’s New Jersey Plan for a Unicameral Legislature.

Created by D.S. on October 01, 2013

Because of the ill-effects of gerrymandering, the US House of Representatives is a broken institution. Rather than continue to let a good principle (proportional representation) drive terrible indecision, let's do away with that dysfunctional institution altogether.

The advantages are significant. First, it will succeed in making government smaller and more agile. Second, it will save the country billions of dollars in operating expenses and side effects of inefficiency and poor decision making. Third, it will eliminate gerrymandering and the ill, polarizing effects included therein.
