Adoptions should include a complete full medical history (without identifying information) from both sides of biological parents' families (up to great grandparents) . Currently adoptees (including me) have no family medical history available to them. In closed adoptions, there is no way to get this information. We don't know if we need to watch out for heart disease or cancers, or, in my case, have genetic diseases and other medical difficulties that are difficult to diagnose. Having this information could aid in treatment and preventative measures that everyone who knows their biological family has. You can get more information on a used car via Carfax than an adopted child.
