Advocate for Abolishing the Electoral College and for Meaningful Election Reform!

Created by H.K. on January 18, 2013

When the United States Constitution was created, it called for Presidents and Vice Presidents to be decided by an electoral college, which itself is supposed to be determined by a popular vote of the people. In four times in our history, this has not been the case, the most recent being Bush v Gore in 2000.

Even those few times are too many. The Electoral College is too much like a middle man. We have over 100 million voting Americans in this country and all of their votes should matter, not just the votes in so-called "swing states". We, the undersigned, call for the Obama Administration to advocate for the removal of said institution and to call for real election reform, reform that would take effect in all states, so everyone follows the same rules from Maine to California.
