to advocate for better laws regarding personal information being exposed online.

Created by K.L. on February 11, 2013

In this day and age, many of us have been told that our most personal information is no longer a private. This has gone so far that there are websites such as Spokeo that will go so far as to compile all of this information and sell it to anyone for a price without the knowledge of the person exposed. Some sites even expose health information, in violation of HIPAA. Many of these websites that pay are not regulated and scam everyone involved, including the person who is buying the information. We the people ask that a law be created that makes it illegal for any website in the U.S. to sell or use personal information without express permission. This can affect life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness and in some cases even the safety of a person whose information has been exposed online.
