Dear Mr President,
The time has come to advocate for the creation of a national law allowing individuals to have the right to die with professional assistance (not doctors, maybe retired doctors or individuals with specific medical training as well as counseling and care).
In an age when life can be extended by machines and drugs, people should be able to sign a “Right to Die” declaration. Where conditions are explained where the person would rather die.
If the person is no longer able to sign such a declaration, rules should be set where family or individuals with power of attorney or health care directive are allowed to decide.
We shouldn’t be forcing religious beliefs on individuals who don’t share those beliefs in situations where the only harm (by choice) that will come is to them
