We advocate that the FCC requires all media companies, as a condition of their licensing, to make all political debates and forums free and available to the affected constituents via real-time internet streaming and non-cable television broadcasting. (For example, in presidential races, that would include the entire American citizenry.)
Cable companies are are acting as gatekeepers to the political system, restricting access to vital information by requiring cable subscriptions to view debates that affect all of us--whether we have the money to pay for a subscription or not.
Therefore, we advocate for a return to the past practice of broadcasting political debates that all citizens can access for free.
Free the Debates!
