advocate for a law requiring a guardian ad litem be assigned to any children involved in a custody battle.

Created by J.B. on April 24, 2014

Under current laws, judges are not required to assign a guardian ad litem to children involved in custody cases. As children are the people most affected by a custody battle and the parents in these cases are often bitter towards their child's other parent, it is unacceptable that these children don't get anyone looking out solely for their interests. We respectfully request that the Obama administration advocate for a federal law requiring that each child involved in a custody case be given a guardian ad litem.
