Advocate for a new Holistic Agricultural Paradigm in the U.S.A

Created by P.H. on March 19, 2015

The Poinciana Hope Foundation proposes the following two suggestions to legislators, in order to promote food security and environmental sustainability:

1. Implement policies that promote 'Community Shared Agriculture Platforms' (CSAP's) [A CSAP is a small farm, preferably organic and using agro-forestry/poly-culture practices. Having a system of multiple CSAP's dispersed through cities as opposed to the current method of mass centralized farming, will present the nation with benefits including decreased carbon and methane emissions, decreased soil erosion, healthier individuals leading to decreased national healthcare costs, and more available jobs.

2. Implement policies that promote at-home growing of certain crops. This can save individuals and the system time and money.
