The obama administration should advocate for public service academies, based on public/private partnerships. maybe a two year enlistment period, in exchange for skills. I believe the american public would benefit greatly from this concept or some variation. with the rising cost of college tuition, and these hard economic times for our country. this would be a pathway to the middle class without accepting a great load of debt and foster depth in america's public service resources. for more information read tom brokaw's book, i just watched him on the daily show and he's the source of this idea.
