Advocate putting in place a tax on Carbon, in order to decrease consumption and lower emissions.

A Nationwide tax on Carbon is morally and economically sound. With Oil being cheaper than it has been in a long time, it is possible to have an effective carbon tax that does not harm the poor but rather puts pressure on consumers to use more efficient cars and ideally zero emission cars. A Nationwide Carbon Tax would provide a great deal of funds for the Federal Government, and could go to the Highway Trust Fund. Global Climate Change is occurring and one way to help lower our CO2 emissions as a nation, is to create incentives to not use as much CO2 related products.
