Out of all the nations of the Earth, the United States of America, and specifically the Federal Government, has one of the most ironic attitudes towards secession. The United States was founded on the principle that:
"Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government."
States entered into the Union fully expecting that they could secede if needed. Indeed, the Constitution does not prohibit secession. But ever since the Civil War, this right has been ignored and daemonised; even through there are over 10 separate secessionist groups in the US. The undersigned ask that the Obama administration admit the right of states to secede; and agree to abide by referenda in favor of secession.
