The current religious fervor against gay couples who wish to marry ignores the basic fundamental rights of citizens. All citizens should be afforded the same freedoms, no matter their religion or lack there of. No one of a certain religious faith should be able to deny rights to another based on the former's specific religious beliefs. It is time for the President to speak forcefully for the rule of law.
