The Affordable Health Care Act and Traditional Students

Created by R.M. on January 27, 2015

The Affordable Health Care act has deemed that Americans must have health insurance by a certain date or it will be taken out of our taxes. Now I am a traditional student- I go to school full time and I don't work. In order to qualify for this you first must have some type of income. But this system was advertised as free. When I called the hotline they said I didn't qualify because I didn't have any income and therefore redirected me to apply for medicaid. In order to qualify for medicaid you must have kids or be pregnant (women) or have some sort of disability. So what do students do if they don't have any disabilities, are not pregnant, and don't have any kids?
I propose that traditional students should get health care free as long as they are in school.
