US citizens struggle with prescription costs that have gone way out of control, due to a combination of corporate greed by pharmaceutical entities, individuals, and government policies that support the current system of drug over-pricing. Regular people cannot afford the medications, take lower doses than prescribed to extend how long a drug lasts, or totally forego treatment that may seriously impact their quality of life. Examples include asthma inhalers, epi pens, and many other drugs that are cheap to produce, but are artificially overpriced through patent manipulation & lobbying. Let's change broken patent office and overly restrictive FDA policies to not allow minor drug or delivery system changes to eliminate affordable generic versions and open international competition.
