February of each year is known as the Black History Month (Canada) or African American History Month (United States). Since 1926, February has been chosen as the month for celebration of Black History. I am personally confused when I listen to the expression “Celebration of Black History”. How can black people celebrate the pain that have marked their history over centuries if not millenaries? I am mostly in favour of changing the term to a more appropriate expression such as “Thoughts on Black History”. This expression may appeal everyone on what has happened and what can be done to avoid the shameful behaviour this history teaches us. Also find at this occasion a thought for a better life in this world.
