The Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) was installed to help promote public service (i.e. underserved populations) and encourage new students towards education program that focus on serving these populations.
Obama's proposed PSLF changes will greatly threaten this mission of increasing public service and will greatly impact the financial stability and decision making of those who would chose to serve this population despite the associated minimal pay.
Keep in mind that today, fewer and fewer high school graduates chose higher education due to financial restraints. A program like PSLF encourages our country's future generations to fearlessly reach for higher dreams that ultimately make our country stronger.
Thus, negative changes on such a great mission is unacceptable!
