Age discrimination against the long term unemployed over 50

Created by M.H. on November 18, 2014

Protect long-term unemployed older workers (over 50) seeking employment. Perhaps incentives need to be given for older employees like the disabled. Even with a stellar resume, employment history and years of experience, chances of getting a job is slim to none. Even jobs that we are overqualified for. It's unfair to find oneself out of work through no fault of your own, years from retirement, ready able and looking for work being discriminated against. First because of age, then because we have been out of work too long. With folks living longer and retirement age being pushed back, this practice is creating a whole new group of poor. Folks who would otherwise be working and productive members of society. We are over 50 with families to support. We need and deserve jobs. We need HELP!
