Given the Sequester and given the responsibility that the President bestows upon his Cabinet, Department and Agency leaders...Sequester cuts should be determined by each agency. A true leader should determine what is best for their department and the tax payer. Some departments are able to absorb sequester cuts through attrition and strategic budgetary planning, yet politics may force federal employees that have already experienced 3 years of pay freezes to be unnecessarily furloughed impacting millions of employees and families.
We propose that Agency/Department leaders be given the opportunity to dictate where, when and how mandatory sequester cuts occur.
