Aggressively pursue sentence reform for non-violent drug offenders and promote hiring of ex-felons.

Created by K.B. on October 01, 2015

Get rid of mandatory minimum sentences for non-violent drug offenders, promote and partner with businesses who would hire ex-felons so they would not feel hopeless or helpless when released. Also consider a federal mandate for sentencing to substance abuse treatment for first time offenders in a therapeutic setting, versus an institutional one. Mandating treatment is both fiscally more responsible, as well as morally correct for people who are sick with chemical dependency, but otherwise without guile.
