This Tuesday, 74 people in Tuscaloosa, Alabama were arrested in a massive raid that netted 183 charges. 61 were students at the University of Alabama. Most charges were for the possession of small amounts of Marijuana.
These students do not deserve to get expelled, as it is clear they will be. They do not deserve to have their futures destroyed because of an effort to fill quotas and raise money for the local police department.
The days of 'reefer madness' paranoia are over, and these sorts of arrests are increasingly unpopular with more of America. The local police force in Tuscaloosa should spend more time and effort catching real criminals, not kids who pose no threat to society.
The Obama administration should step in to help these kids. This should be a national outrage!
