Since the repeal of Prohibition, the three-tier system has become the law. With the market dominance of Anheuser-Busch InBev, this system has become a major road block to small brewers, stifling small business growth. Distributors and retailers are pressured by by InBev to not do business with other brewers or to prominently display InBev products. Distributors have been known to take inventory from brewers and intentionally not sell it, in order to drive small brewers out of business.
It is time to stop looking after the interests of the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America and start looking out for the interests of small business and dismantle the three-tier system.
