The situation in Syria, especially in Aleppo, is unimaginably drastic. The United States must do all that it can to provide aid to civilians who are stranded without the basic necessities needed to survive. As humanitarian aid has been blocked by the Syrian regime, the US should work with other UN member states such as the UK to provide aid through airlifts. Furthermore, the US government must pressure the Syrian government to stop harming civilians. This regime must be held accountable for how it has failed to protect, and has even intentionally targeted, innocent civilians. We cannot allow these atrocities to continue.
