To counter an increasing Federal deficit I propose we tie House and Senate salaries to the median salary of United States citizens. When the country as a whole is prosperous, our elected officials will be rewarded with an increase in their pay.
In addition, Congress should be provided the same level of health insurance provided to all Americans regardless of income level or job. If the average American citizen doesn't have coverage, neither should our elected officials.
