In all cities with a population of more than 500,000 replace every electric street light with a solar powered one.

All cities with a population higher than 500,000 should have solar powered street lights. Just by lowering the number of grid powered street lights the country will conserve immense quantities of natural resources. We keep talking about taking steps toward a more energy efficient future, so let us just take that step. Fossil fuels are not infinite, burning them harms us in more ways than we chose to think about. Our planet is not infinite,and continuing to ignore that will kick us in the butt someday. Earth deserves not to be ignored, so let's get the ball rolling on a project that is manageable on a national level and that will start to clean up our carbon footprint.
