33 officers were killed by gunfire in 2013 while on-duty in the United States.
309 suspects, whose guilt will remain undetermined, were killed by police officers in the same year.
I believe, and I feel that a majority of Americans would agree with me, that Police Officers should be required to wear cameras with audio capability at all times when on-duty.
These cameras can be financed from the top to the bottom. Federal subsidies, state subsidies, department budgets, partnership with GoPro, etc.
There needs to be accountability for the actions of police officers, and tangible evidence to provide in court. The "dashcam" is an excellent feature, and when it was implemented handheld cameras were much larger than they are in 2014.
American citizens should not fear their own police.
