How can we call ourselves a true democracy when special interests, unions, large corporations, and wealthy individuals give campaign contributions in exchange for votes or laws written in their interest. Our representatives no longer represent their constituents but their donors.
My hope is that by removing private money from the process, our representatives will be free to do what's best for the people and the country. Wouldn't it be great if our politicians spend their time working on the country's problems and not fundraising.
We should have a government that works for ALL the people. Let's put an end to pay-to-play democracy.
