All firearms manufactured after the passage of this statute would be required to have a generic, tamper proof RFID chip

All firearms sold as "new" in the United States after the passage of this statute would be required to have a tamperproof RFID tag installed. This tag would be a generic ID common to all firearms so it cannot be used for specific ID. The tag could be used in conjunction with alarm systems in "gun free zones" to alert people when a firearm is present. Seperate IDs could be issued to police and military that would be exempt from alarm systems. Guns already in ownership could be voluntarily "chipped" and would exempted from any restrictions on firearms features and magazine size. This would allow for responsible gun ownership without restrictions on freedoms while providing assurances that "gun free zones" are exactly that.
