All government employees (including the president and congress) take a pay cut and stop voting for their own pay raise

Created by T.W. on November 04, 2011

Instead of the president, congress, and federal employees all making much more than average, and especially low class citizens, i propose they take pay cuts and only be paid that of what an average middle class American citizen makes.

The president earns a $400,000 annual salary, along with a $50,000 annual expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account and $19,000 for entertainment.

The current salary (2011) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year.

Senate Leadership
Majority Party Leader - $193,400
Minority Party Leader - $193,400

House Leadership
Speaker of the House - $223,500
Majority Leader - $193,400
Minority Leader - $193,400

This is all taxpayer money going to these people. It disenfranchises them from how the people they represent live.
