According to FBI statistics, in 2011 there were 496 murders committed by means of a hammer or club. We petition the Senate to enact legislature requiring hammer manufacturers to paint this tool in a highly visible Day-Glo Orange or Green paint to increase the visible effect in effort to mitigate the usage of this tool in assaults and murders across our nation. Increasing the visibility of this tool will deter criminals from choosing a hammer as a tool of crime.
