A substantial group of Americans are already living off-grid. Whatever their motives or what others think of those motives, these Americans are showing that it can be done.

We need President Obama to make it a national priority to get all US residences able to sustain themselves off-grid for at least 1 week, and to obtain at least 60% of their household energy on a daily basis by the year 2025.
Provide subsidies for development of technology for convenient at-home collection, storage, and use of non-fossil sources and tax incentives to citizens and businesses to use them.
