We are requesting that the rules for submitting a petition specify that when a petition relates to a specific area of the country (i.e. one state), that ONLY signatures from citizens of that area are considered for said petition. The reasons for our request are outlined below:
1. Many "states" have submitted petitions for permission to seceed from the union.
2. The signatures on those petitions are not all from citizens of the state in question.
3. It is unfair for the citizens of a state to have people from other areas of the country asking the government to make changes in our state.
4. Petitions should only be given consideration if the signatures of citizens of the state number the minimum of 25,000. Signatures of non-citizens should not be included in the count.
