If Russia is using natural gas as thier trump card with Europe, allow US companies to sell natural gas to Europe. Recently, Russia forgave 10 billuion USD of North Koreas debt with hopes of building a natural gas line through NK to reach a better market in our good ally in South Korea. Also, Russia hopes to begin selling natural gas to China this year. Why not sell what we have excess us and attempt to control Russia?
