Victory in Europe (VE) Day is scheduled to be celebrated in Moscow on May 9. The event should be moved to Kyiv, Ukraine.
Three former US ambassadors to Ukraine - Steven Pifer, John Herbst, and William Taylor - support the change in venue.

Several peoples of different nations once made up the Soviet Union. They too sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fight against Nazi tyranny. Although numerically the heaviest losses were sustained by Russia, Ukraine’s sacrifices as a portion of its population were far greater.
