Since we put man on the moon our nation has been slowly regressing into an age of minimal risk taking. Our cultural has rooted itself into an age of looking forward to the next cell phone with a larger screen instead of looking towards the next breakthrough in technology or the next pinnacle of human achievement. The technology has existed for decades to send us to Mars and it is now or never to take the next step of sending human beings to the corners of our solar system. People may have asked why send Columbus? why venture to Antarctica? why go to the moon? why Mars? Some of our hardest obstacles have ended up furthering our society for the better. But it takes a willingness to step up and accomplish something great, not because it is easy but because it is hard.
