Traveling and commuting by bicycle has many benefits. Cyclists save money and get good exercise by using a bicycle to get around. Additionally, the environmental benefit is substantial; with less cars on the road will also come less harmful emissions.
Unfortunately, in many places, cycling on public roadways is unsafe. Most roads do not have designated bike lanes, and those that do are constructed of mere paint, which certainly won't protect a bicyclist if a motor vehicle drifts into their lane. Only a physical barrier (whether the bike lane itself is raised from the rest of the road or is merely separated by concrete) will protect cyclists, therefore encouraging more Americans to use this environmentally-friendly method to travel.
So, we ask President Obama to BUILD MORE BIKE LANES!
