The federal government should restructure funds so that more funds can be allocated for mental health agencies and state operated mental health institutions.
Many people are often arrested and thrown into the criminal justice system for reasons sometimes beyond their control, like mental health problems. They go to agencies for help and are too often turned away due to lack of funding to provide them services including needed medications.
Many of them do not have incomes yet are disabled and unable to work therefore do not have adequate access to quality healthcare services.
