With the increasing number of cancer related deaths in the United States (the second most common cause of death), the Federal Government should uphold its duty to protect its citizens from all agents. With the rising cost of living, health care bills could bankrupt a family. Although the Affordable Care Act aims to diminish those costs, the threat is ever present for those families that have been stricken with sever health issues. The advancement of gene therapy using genetically modified T-cells has shown many positive outlooks, including a permanent defense system within the patient. It is for this reason that the Federal Government should reallocate funding to such centers that are pioneering this field of cancer treatment!
