Allocate a tiny portion of the funds given for defense to NAMI, the National Alliance of Mental Illness.

Created by S.K. on January 18, 2013

Instead of passing laws that will force psychiatric patients to avoid treatment to protect their privacy and discrimination against them based off of their issues, take one billion dollars from the obviously bloated defense budget of 700 billion dollars and allocate it to organizations like NAMI.

Organizations such as these are invaluable to mental health treatment and even though a billion dollars sounds like a lot, it is a drop in the ocean compared to how much we spend on defense despite the fact that no country has invaded the United States since Pearl Harbor.

If the President truly wants to prevent shootings by those with mental issues, start helping these people treat them as doing such a thing would benefit every single citizen in this country.
