Right now, there is a lack of federal funding for arts programs. Furthermore, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), school budget crunches have been a trend over the past couple years and span the entire nation. These two factors place arts programs in danger of being cut. In addition, laws that emphasize standardized testing take away time in arts classes. However, various studies have shown that music education can increase intellect and makes students happy.
